The Sisters on Reading Aloud

If you don't receive the "Tip of the Week" email from The Sisters, you should.

Today their tip was titled, The Power of the Read Aloud. I thought it was a great read and wanted to share it with other slicers. Enjoy!

Happy weekend!!!

  1. They are so right! Thanks for sharing the link. Since I moved to 6th grade, I no longer get their emails.

  5. Looks like I may have a new book to purchase thanks to the recommendation of a fellow slicer. Thank you C. Crouch for telling us about The Reading Promise, and thank you Brittany for reminding me to take the time to read the Sister's weekly email. In my morning rush, I opened the link but failed to engage. Looks like I have an article to devour!

  6. It is always my favorite part of the day. I somehow feel a guilty pleasure knowing that it is a good thing for the kids, but I really think I do it for me more:)

    1. I totally do it for myself! Even though I have read all of the books before and I know exactly what is going to happen.

    1. Current favorite, The One And Only Ivan. I have read this the past two years to my 3rd graders. This book has been the most engaged in a read aloud my kids have ever been. I've already finished this year and my kids still talk about Ivan. I'm currently reading Because of Winn Dixie and I always read Charlotte's Web. It's a classic.
